CAP II students went out on a cold, wet afternoon and passed out bags of food at several locations around the community where homeless people congregate. Attached to each bag was a hand-written note of encouragement that the girls wrote themselves. "It went pretty well," said Katherin Rivera. It was a cold afternoon and the people seemed hungry. CAP II teams have prioritized service projects as a way to make the world a better place, and to learn how to make service a part of their life. "Serving others makes you feel good. It also is an important element of your résumé when you apply for college," noted Gabby Beardsley, who together with Mariel Ponce were the mentors who organized the event.
