As part of their mentoring, students in the Cross-Age Peer Mentoring program organize and conduct a community service project in the community. Moved by the plight of the homeless in a nearby park, these students put together Christmas gift bags with food, home-made cookies, and clean socks along with a good dose of Christmas cheer, and spent an afternoon in December passing out the bags at Santa Rita park. "We had a great time together," said Beatriz Ohlmaier, one of the mentors. "You could tell that the people in the park really appreciated what we had to give them."
